WHO ARE YOUR STYLE ICONS?
I'll start. I have so many, I could bore you with names all day long. To be fair, I am also a style consultant, so you'd kind of hope I'd have a few (!) but let's get cracking.
Most of these will be familiar names to you probably. Sarah Jessica Parker is most definitely up there for me. Creative but always classy, adventurous and a lover of fashion, it's very difficult for me not to love almost everything she wears. And as for her incredible shoe line, don't get me started. I'd like them all please.
When it comes to Brits, it has to be Kate Moss doesn't it? The super of all the supers (in my eyes anyway) she made vintage fashion, fashionable and always looks comfortable in whatever she wears, from bohemian seventies inspired dresses to sharp, tailored suits. Fabulous.
Next up, is this lady. A style client of mine introduced me to her, for which I'll be forever grateful. Ulyana Sergeenko is a Russian fashion designer and her style is romance on steroids. If you like romantic touches in your style like billowing sleeves, feathers, lace, florals and feminine jewellery to make you swoon, you will love her too.
Other style favourites that I think are worth mentioning are British actress Sienna Miller (never tries too hard but always looks sensational), American Tracey Ellis Ross (think colour, drama and sequins), Hollywood A-lister Penelope Cruz ( no one wears feminine frocks better) and the legendary Jackie Kennedy (but predominantly her looks from the 70s.) Next, let's have a look at Instagram shall we? The marvellous Trinny , is in my opinion, unbeatable for colour and confidence, Korinna at Is This Too Young For Me is super creative, Erica Davies has fabulous style and Leonie Hanne wears dresses worthy of your finest dreams! And finally, let's not forget the women I know and love. Because whilst it's wonderful to have style icons whom are famous and celebrated, some of the most stylish women I've come across are those I know or have known. My friend Lisa just continues to bloom with confidence and rocks a colourful dress or swishy skirt better than anyone I know. Pat, who trained me when I was a young trainee journalist, always inspires me with her stunning jewellery pieces and bohemian touches. My Mum taught me that leopard print and sparkle never go out of style and finally, I'll always remember my Aunty Anne who sadly passed away earlier this year, for her devotion to everything glamorous. Not many people can pull off a white feather hat, but you should have seen her at my wedding. She looked magnificent. If you've got a few moments to share, I'd love to hear about your style icons! Whether they are famous or not! Let me know who they are in the comments below and please don't forget those gorgeous women in your everyday lives! You may just make their day.
